Forest restoration field technician
Plant-for-the-Planet is a global organization advocating for large-scale reforestation around the world and is the leader of the Trillion Tree Campaign. We are hiring a field technician to manage multiple forest restoration experiments near Constitución, Campeche. The primary responsibilities of forest restoration field technician will include the management of two projects designed in collaboration with scientists at ETH Zürich:
1) A restoration experiment on the impacts of the soil microbiome on restoration outcomes.
2) A shade house experiment focused on the impacts of drought on biomass allocation.
Required qualifications
The selected applicant will be given a 6-month contract with the possibility of becoming a longer term employee pending future project needs. Starting salary is $20,000 MXN per month.

Required qualifications
- Master’s degree (or a Bachelor’s with extensive experience) in biology, ecology, forestry, restoration, agroforestry, or a related field
- Willingness to spend at least four days a week at the field sites in southern Campeche (Constitución). Housing and a vehicle to drive to field sites will be provided on-site.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and project management skills
- Field experience such as conducting forest inventory surveys, greenhouse experiments
- Experience with data entry programs and data collection
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic knowledge of English
